Employee satisfaction

Why employee satisfaction is essential

In our current competitive job market, all companies aspire to increase and maintain employee satisfaction at a high level. But what actually indicates a satisfied employee? It’s someone who wakes up in the morning and looks forward to going to work. They feel comfortable in their workplace, enjoy what they do, love working alongside their colleagues and go home after work feeling fulfilled. This is the ideal image that every company hopes their employees experience – because they’re invaluable to the company.

Employee satisfaction, however, doesn’t just depend on the right salary, working hours or workload, but on a great working atmosphere. Honesty and respect among colleagues plays an important role as to how valued the employee feels by their employer. One of the first steps an employer can take to increase the satisfaction of their team is to focus on physical wellbeing. This includes nutrition like healthy snacks, holidays and company sports offers. The challenge is to meet the different interests of all employees with as little cost as possible and thus ensure long-term job satisfaction.

Positive effects of employee satisfaction

Numerous start-ups and young companies are leading by example by focusing on the health and fitness of their employees and staying committed to ensuring a great work/life balance. Companies recognise that employee satisfaction also significantly strengthens employee loyalty to the company and that healthy and active employees take fewer sick days, have more energy, are more efficient and make better team players. Satisfied employees whose health is supplemented by their employer are significantly more committed and motivated within their role. This in turn benefits the company itself.
