What are your responsibilities as HR Business Partner and what do you enjoy most about your role?
As HR Business Partner, I am a sparring partner for each department’s leadership team on any HR-related topic. For example team building, labour law advice, process implementations for career development, advice on individual situations and I also support the leadership team in their own development.
I enjoy helping the managers challenge their approaches and to discuss new ideas. An HR Business Partner also facilitates adaptations of new HR processes within departments and uses feedback from the teams to improve them according to the needs of their target group.
How has your role changed since Corona?
The change in working environment definitely impacted my role. Teams were required to work remotely which had an impact on social interactions, meeting structures, a sense of belonging and processes. During this time we supported teams by setting up suitable communication channels, providing virtual team building activities and sharing best practices for remote collaboration.
How do you keep a good work/life-balance?
I try to be mindful of my working environment and my time. It’s important to have a dedicated workplace which is both inviting and functional. During my lunch break I try to get out and go for a short walk and towards the end of my working day I try to recap what I did and write down any thoughts or to-do’s for the next day in order to free my mind and disconnect for the evening.
Which Urban Sports Club value is your favorite?
My favorite Urban Sports Club value is “put yourself in the shoes of others.” It’s important that HR Business Partners are empathetic and understand different people’s perspectives so we can resolve issues in a balanced way that suits the best interests of everyone.
When it comes to your role, what is your “why”?
I love to see the positive impact my job has on others and the difference my work makes to individual employees. That’s what motivates me to get up in the morning and do my best to support my colleagues.
